Please check the validity of your information before you submit it
to our database. Your e-mail address is the only way people have to contact
you. There are several places that you can get a free email address if you don't
already have one such as "www.yahoo.com" or "www.netscape.com". If you decide to go there to get
one, you may wish to choose an email name like jenny5f@yahoo.com rather than
jenny@yahoo.com since almost all common email names have already been taken. As
far as email protection, we offer a service that automatically hides your email
address so that others can not spam mail you, and you also don't have to worry
about who gets ahold of your address, since users who send you email don't actually
see your email address unless you want them to.
Help on Sending Us your Self-Picture:
If you have a self-photo with you (perhaps you've scanned in a picture and saved it on a floppy), you may put it in your computer and upload it when you are asked to. If you have a self-picture already on the internet, you should go to the site that it is on and download it to your computer. If you have a self-photo in your e-mail, you must also download it to your computer. Basically, if you can get your self-picture to appear on a page within your web browser (for example you see your picture as an attachment in your web-based email), just right-click on the picture and choose the "save as" option from the pop-up menu.
Once you have
your self-photo on your computer, just click the "Browse" button on the photo-submit form to select the location of where it is. (You can get to the photo-submit form by clicking the checkbox next to "YES, I have a self-picture with me now." on the general submit form which can be found after selecting a state, then a college name.) Double-click the
name of the picture once you've found it. Now you need to name the picture.
The name you give it will be used for your own personal web page file. For
example, if you name your picture, "Jermy.jpg" then your web page will be
named "Jermy.htm". Your picture name must end in a valid photo extension
such as ".jpg", ".gif", or ".bmp". The next page you will see after sending
us your picture contains your picture. The size is made small (which may
distort the image temporarily) so that it fits in a little box on the page,
but users will be able to see the full size of the picture when they click
on it. Please do not upload any pornographic material since this is a NOT
a porn site. Also, try to put your photo in a ".jpg" or ".gif" format since
".bmp" can take a lot of space.
